In his reaction, Daniel Regha argues against supporting Nwoko's proposed gun legislation, asserting that it could exacerbate the existing insecurity issues. He questions the assurance that such a law wouldn't be misused or result in firearms falling into the wrong hands, potentially aiding criminals.

Rega highlights the concern that even in situations of minor disputes, people resort to violence using objects like broken bottles. He emphasizes that legalizing firearms may escalate problems rather than resolve them. In his own words: “Ned Nwoko’s firearms bill should not be encouraged; This willn’t solve the insecurity issue but only worsen it. Let’s assume Nigerians are allowed to obtain firearms (legally), what’s the guarantee that majority won’t misuse it, or that these arms won’t end up in the hands of criminals? We have seen how many people break bottles over little arguments/misunderstandings, let’s not add to our problems.”
