Damilola Adegbite, a renowned Nollywood actress, has finally opened up about the reasons behind her divorce from actor Chris Attoh, following a two-year marriage.
After having a son together in 2014, the couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony in 2015. Their paths had crossed on the set of the popular soap opera "Tinsel."
In an interview with prominent journalist Chude Jideonwo, the actress disclosed that they came to realize that "love is not enough," which ultimately led to their separation.
Although the couple officially divorced in September 2017, Damilola expressed that she has no regrets about the end of their marriage.
The single mother also emphasized her high regard for Chris Attoh as he remains the father of their son.
According to her, love is just one aspect among many that should be considered when choosing a life partner; it should not be the sole determining factor.
This revelation comes several months after Damilola Adegbite experienced a distressing incident in London, where her handbag containing money and her phone was stolen. She found herself stranded until a kind-hearted individual came to her aid.
Taking to her Instagram page to discuss the incident, Damilola Adegbite wrote, "Regardless of where you are or where you plan to go, the most important thing is for God to be with you. My handbag was stolen some weeks ago in London.
My phone and all my money for the trip gone in a second, literally. MET police had to get involved. It was like a movie. Thank God for a helper. I would have been stranded in a foreign land. The world has changed, guys.
She added, "Got an alert from Apple. My phone has reached China before me 😂 It is well. Just try and make the most of whatever situation you find yourself in as you aim for higher!"
