Popular Nigerian musician, Charles Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy, has made a bold promise, vowing to walk naked on the streets if Peter Obi, the Labour Party's candidate in the February 25 presidential election, emerges victorious over the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the election Tribunal. The APC candidate, Tinubu, had been declared the winner of the presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and subsequently sworn in as president on May 29.
Currently, Peter Obi and his party, LP, are in court, challenging the victory of President Tinubu in the election.
Charly Boy took to his Twitter handle to express his determination, stating that he would celebrate jubilantly by walking naked from one end of Bodillon to Falomo if Peter Obi's victory is announced by the Tribunal, even before the case reaches the Supreme Court.
Charly Boy, a strong supporter of the Obidient's movement, had recently showered praises on Peter Obi, hailing him as the 'chosen one' and considering him his 'Jesus on earth.' He commended the former Anambra governor for his humanitarian efforts and highlighted Obi's celebration of his 62nd birthday with over 18,000 displaced persons in various IDP camps in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. Charly Boy lauded Obi's generosity and commitment to building a better Nigeria.
In a strong declaration of support, Charly Boy emphasized that Peter Obi is incomparable to others and deserves the title of the "Chosen One," contrasting him with some other politicians who, in his opinion, lack the same qualities of leadership and empathy.
Charly Boy's promise to walk naked in celebration of Peter Obi's potential victory serves as an expression of his confidence in Obi's capabilities and a symbolic gesture of his support for the politician.
