Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has recently sparked controversy with an audio clip she shared on social media, addressing the issue of husband snatchers. This comes after fellow actor Yul Edochie publicly introduced his second wife, Judy Austin, just two months after the tragic loss of his first son. Rita Edochie has been vocal in expressing her disapproval of the couple.
In previous posts, Rita Edochie made subtle jabs at Judy Austin, asserting that the only recognized wife in the Edochie family is May Edochie, Yul's first wife. She referred to Judy as an illegitimate wife and emphasized that May and Yul will never be separated. Rita further explained that May believes any spell cast on her husband will eventually be broken, but she will speak up once she has finished mourning their late son, Kambilichukwu, who passed away in March.
Rita Edochie, unyielding in her support for May Edochie, took to her Instagram page to confront women who engage in husband-snatching without fear. She shared a video of herself with background audio of a woman threatening dire consequences against anyone who tries to snatch her husband. Rita captioned the post with a statement suggesting that not everyone can successfully snatch someone's husband, particularly in the context of Christianity.
Following the release of the video, several actresses and actors within the movie industry responded to Rita Edochie's post. Angela Okorie expressed her belief that even ex-boyfriends cannot be snatched, let alone husbands, stating that those who attempt such actions are doomed to fail. Actor Benson Okonkwo expressed his support for Queen May, affirming that she will bounce back stronger.
In reaction to her video, some movie actresses and actors have reacted to her video.
Angela Okorie wrote;
“Even get people Ex boyfriend self dem no fit snatch talkless of Husband…they won die”.
Actor Benson Okonkwo also wrote: “Our Queen may will bounce back better”
