It has been reported that Nigerian musician Burna Boy received a payment of $750,000 (N577.5M) for his performance at the 2023 Coachella. The annual music and arts festival was held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California over two weekends, from April 14 to April 16, 2023.
Burna Boy reportedly performed for 50 minutes on the first day of the festival, Friday, April 14, and was paid $750k as his booking fee. According to business journalist Trung Phan, the headliners and other musicians on the first row of the poster were paid over $4 million per weekend, while a lower amount of $750,000 was fixed for those on the second row, where Burna Boy was placed.
Trung Phan shared this information in a tweet, saying, "Interesting rule-of-thumb for the Coachella poster. Headliners make $4,000,000+ per weekend while artists in the 2nd row make $750,000 per weekend."

It is worth noting that Burna Boy is not the first Nigerian artist to perform at Coachella. In 2019, artists such as Mr. Eazi, Wizkid, and Tiwa Savage also performed at the festival. However, Burna Boy's performance and payment have sparked a lot of conversation and celebration among his fans and fellow Nigerians.
