Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, was taken to the Police Hospital in Falomo, Lagos, on Wednesday after he began experiencing sharp and persistent breast pain. This development comes shortly after he had spent an extended period in a cell at the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Alagbon, Lagos.

According to Gistreel, which initially reported the incident, Bobrisky had complained of discomfort earlier, leading to speculation about the cause of his condition. Despite initial reports focusing on health-related reasons, a police source interviewed by Vanguard hinted that the trip to the hospital may have had more to do with timing and strategic management than an immediate medical emergency.

Bobrisky was taken to the hospital in an ambulance around 2 p.m., as indicated by these same police sources. The use of the ambulance, as well as the specific choice of the Police Hospital in Falomo, was reportedly a calculated move to avoid drawing attention to the incident amidst ongoing legal and procedural matters.

It is worth noting that the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Lagos State had planned to have Bobrisky transferred to the SFU for further investigations. This coincided closely with the hospital visit, causing some to speculate whether the health complaint was genuine or strategically timed to deflect attention during the transfer process.

A police source reportedly commented on the situation, stating: “They were concerned about avoiding public attention during the transfer, so they arranged for a police ambulance with the number plate LLD339LP to escort Bobrisky to the hospital.” The source further noted that Bobrisky had complained persistently about the pain in his 'breast,' which prompted officers to make the decision to take him to the Police Hospital in Falomo first, before any transfer to the SFU was carried out.

Another source familiar with the case mentioned that after the Commissioner of Police in charge of SFU had personally visited the command to oversee the transfer procedures, the decision was made to isolate Bobrisky. Before being placed in a cell, Bobrisky was held separately from other detainees, and two armed officers were specifically assigned to guard his temporary holding area. The armed officers reportedly stayed with him until he was escorted into the ambulance and taken to the hospital.

Interestingly, when Bobrisky was approached inside the ambulance and asked to confirm his name, he identified himself by his male name, Idris. The ambulance transporting him was equipped with security measures, including the presence of a fully armed police officer and a female nurse, both of whom remained with him for the duration of the trip. Bobrisky was placed on a stretcher inside the ambulance to ensure his comfort and safety during the transport to the hospital.
