Controversial Nigerian crossdresser and social media personality, Bobrisky, has reportedly been rearrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) shortly after his recent release from detention. The re-arrest took place at the airport, reigniting public attention on the ongoing legal issues surrounding him.
According to previous reports by Gistreel, Bobrisky was initially detained by the Nigerian Immigration Service amid allegations of attempting to leave Nigeria as a means to evade investigations related to alleged bribery activities. The incident had already drawn significant media coverage due to his high-profile social media presence and controversial reputation.
Earlier in the week, Bobrisky had been released from detention and subsequently took to Instagram to update his followers on his status, sharing a new look and expressing a strong sense of resilience.
However, in a recent series of Instagram posts, Bobrisky informed his followers that he had once again been taken into custody by EFCC officials at the airport, following what appears to be a renewed phase of legal scrutiny.
Adding to the emotional nature of his posts, the self-proclaimed ‘Mummy of Lagos’ alleged that he sustained injuries during this latest arrest. Bobrisky also shared a video on his Instagram page, seemingly as evidence of the physical harm he claims to have endured, emphasizing his frustration and appealing to the public for support.
“Nigerians, help me! EFCC has just arrested me. I’m badly injured,” he stated passionately in his post, which has since garnered considerable attention online.
