Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has stirred reactions on social media after declining a portrait of his late friend, Mohbad, and his son during a live performance. In a circulating video, Bella Shmurda, standing on an elevated stage, was handed a framed picture of the late musician Mohbad with his son, Liam.
Bella Shmurda invited the fan on stage as he examined the picture frame he was given. The musician then spoke into the microphone and stated that he would not accept the gift.
Bella began by thanking God for life and asking for Mohbad’s tranquility before announcing that the artist who brought the picture frame would also be the one to return it because he couldn’t fit the image in his house. He did, however, offer the fan a substantial prize.
He stated in Yoruba: “You that brought this picture will be the same person to take it back because I can’t put this in my house, but I will give you money.”
