Comedian Ashmusy recently shared the reasons behind her decision to step away from Nollywood movies in a candid interview with media personality Chude.
During the interview, Ashmusy openly disclosed that she made the choice to quit her acting career due to the distressing experiences she encountered with certain producers. Shockingly, she revealed that some of these producers made inappropriate demands, pressuring her to engage in sexual activities with them in exchange for acting roles.

She described instances where she was lured into secluded rooms by these producers, and expressed the intense fear she felt, even recounting a time when she had to escape from one of these situations out of concern for her well-being and safety from potential assault.
She further shared that certain producers went so far as to promise her fame and recognition as an actress, but only if she complied with their inappropriate demands. Ashmusy's frustration and fear grew as she recognized this disturbing trend being pervasive within the Nollywood industry.
In her own words during the interview, she stated, "I stopped acting in Nollywood because some producers always asked me to have sex with them. They usually invite me to private rooms, and it got to the point that I had to escape from one of them because I was so scared of being raped.
โWhen I realized that it was becoming a constant thing in Nollywood, I decided to stop acting in movies because I cannot exchange my body for a movie role.โ
