Afrobeat sensation Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, has recently addressed the requests from fans who have been urging him to sing his songs more in English. This response comes in the wake of the release of Asake’s much-anticipated third studio album, “Lungu Boy,” which features collaborations with prominent music stars such as Wizkid, Stormzy, and Travis Scott, among others.
Some of Asake’s fans have expressed dissatisfaction, stating that they find it difficult to connect with his music due to the predominance of Yoruba lyrics in his songs. In response to these concerns, Asake addressed the issue during a recent Instagram Live session. He explained that he feels more at ease singing in Yoruba, although he is capable of performing in English as well. Despite this, he made it clear that his fans should embrace his Yoruba lyrics if they choose to support him.
