Actress Iyabo Ojo plans to sue fan for recreating her N37.5m AMVCA dress

Popular Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo, has expressed her reaction to a fan who recreated her expensive look at the recently concluded Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA). The ninth edition of the award ceremony took place on Saturday, May 20, where numerous Nigerian celebrities showcased their regal and glamorous outfits.

Iyabo Ojo, one of the celebrities who graced the black carpet at Eko Hotel & Suites, captivated everyone with her stunning attire. She donned a striking black dress adorned with red and orange feathers, creating an illusion of fiery flames.

After the event, a content creator known for satirically recreating celebrities' outfits in a funny and low-budget manner decided to replicate Iyabo Ojo's ensemble, including her hair and makeup. When the actress stumbled upon the video, she had mixed feelings about the portrayal of her attire, and she went as far as threatening to take legal action against the creator. However, it remains uncertain whether her statement was meant seriously or in jest.

When the thespian saw the video, she had mixed feelings about the man’s portrayal of her attire and threatened to sue him. However, it’s unclear whether she was serious or joking.

She also revealed the staggering amount she paid for the dress designed by celebrity stylist Toyin Lawani, better known as Tiannah Empire, revealing that it costs $50,000 (N37.5 million).

The 45-year-old actress reposted the video on her official Instagram page and wrote,

“Please, i need an Idan lawyer, who has Oba lawyers number, i need to sue this guy……… nobody should beg me oooo, we shall meet in court ………. my $50,000 💵 dress, no wayyyyyy”
