Laura Monyeazo Abebe, popularly known as Moet Abebe, a media personality and video jockey, has tearfully revealed the reasons behind the failure of her marriage.
In a candid conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Moet Abebe opened up about her past marriage and why it didn't work out.
Earlier in 2021, Moet Abebe had publicly criticized the institution of marriage after her own failed experience. During an Instagram question-and-answer session with her fans, she expressed her skepticism towards marriage and referred to it as a fraudulent concept.
When a fan asked her to marry him, Moet Abebe responded by stating that she did not wish to get married because she believed it to be a major fraud. She added, "But what do I know?"
During the interview with Chude Jideonwo, Moet Abebe disclosed that her marriage failed due to her partner's violent and abusive behavior. She shared that she had been engaged at one point but decided to end the relationship because of the violence she experienced.
She said, "I could have been a married woman right now. I was engaged but it didn't work out. Also, it was a violent relationship. And I realized that is not what I want for myself."
Moet Abebe further revealed that she had been in a violent relationship for approximately two and a half years. She acknowledged the need to prioritize her own well-being and leave the relationship, stating, "I need to sort of realize that no more, this cannot be you loving yourself. You being here means that you don't want the best for yourself. And that was how I left the relationship."
