Hon. Dickson Tarkighir has issued a stern warning of a potential N10 billion lawsuit against Venita Akpofure and the organizers of the reality show, citing allegations of "defaming" the Tiv Nation.
Notably, Hon. Dickson Tarkighir represents the Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency in Benue State within the House of Representatives.
Venita found herself in hot water after making a controversial statement on the reality show, suggesting that "Tiv men give their wives to visitors for entertainment purposes."
This statement sparked outrage among the Tiv people in Nigeria's North Central region, leading to calls for potential legal action against her.
Consequently, Hon. Tarkighir has proposed the possibility of suing Venita and the Big Brother Naija brand for affording her "the mega platform to defame the Tiv tribe."
On his Facebook page, he expressed his stance: "#Venita Akpofure- Slam a 10BN defamation suit on her, the Big Brother brand, and its promoters, they provided her with the mega platform to defame an entire tribe and are equally liable for not disowning her."
