The singer pointed a finger at the Nigerian health system, blaming it for medical negligence that resulted in the loss of his friend Sound Sultan.
At a loss for words, the 47-year-old artist expressed, "He was one of the 'goodest,' if I can use that word. He was one of the most genuinely kind people you could ever encounter, like an angel.
"For a while, I couldn't bring myself to accept that reality; it felt like a joke. The diagnosis came late. We assumed it was malaria, and he underwent tests in Nigeria. But I'd rather not delve into all of that."
Sound Sultan passed away on July 11, 2021, at the age of 44, after battling Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a form of throat cancer.
2Baba and Sound Sultan had shared a friendship for over two decades before the latter's unfortunate demise.
