A young Nigerian lawyer has opened up about what he described as the most devastating heartbreak of his life, which centered around a woman he loved deeply and trusted, only for her to end up with the very man she had once downplayed as “just a common tailor.”
The emotional revelation was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @egi_nupe___, who narrated how his then-girlfriend reassured him not to worry about another tailor who appeared to be showing interest in her. According to him, she dismissed the man’s presence in her life, labeling him as insignificant and even describing him in a rather belittling way: “just a common tailor disturbing me.”
However, fate took a bitter turn as the same tailor she disregarded later went on to become a major part of her life. The lawyer explained that the tailor impregnated her, and to his shock, she eventually married him. In his words, “He later impregnated her and they are now married,” a statement he punctuated with laughing emojis to highlight the irony and painful betrayal he endured.
The story gained traction when the lawyer was asked about the biggest lie he had ever been told. In response, he quoted her exact words, which have now gone viral: “He’s just a common tailor that’s disturbing me.” He admitted that those words carried the weight of one of the deepest betrayals of his life, an experience that left him brokenhearted and questioning everything he thought he knew about love and loyalty.
Opening up further, the lawyer revealed that the heartbreak took such a toll on him that he almost harmed himself during that difficult period. “Lmao, I was! But it no reach the heartbreak wey I chop in 2013. I nearly drank Izal,” he confessed, using humor to mask the depth of his pain. His revelation drew mixed reactions, with some sympathizing with him and others using it as a moment to highlight the unpredictability of relationships.
The post quickly went viral, prompting thousands of reactions across social media. Some people sympathized with his painful experience, acknowledging how ruthless heartbreak can be, while others took a more humorous approach, joking about how the so-called “common tailor” turned out to be the real winner in the end. His openness not only sparked conversations about trust in relationships but also served as a cautionary tale about underestimating rivals in matters of the heart.
