Ifasoji Ayangbesan, a 35-year-old herbalist [/b]presently in police custody, has allegedly confessed to purchasing two human legs for N20,000 for the purpose of rituals. Ayangbesan is accused of killing and dismembering Oyindamola Adeyemi, a young lady. The Ogun State police command arrested Ayangbesan last week and accused him of offering a bribe of N1 million to avoid prosecution.

During his presentation before the press on May 3, Ayangbesan denied being involved in Adeyemi's murder, claiming that he was an herbalist and not a ritualist.

How Ayangbesan Bought Two Human Legs for N20,000

Ayangbesan reportedly admitted to purchasing two fresh human legs, but denied being involved in the murder of the victim. According to him, a friend named Lukman approached him with the offer to sell the pair of legs. Although Ayangbesan initially declined the offer, Lukman convinced him to purchase the legs for rituals to improve his life. Ayangbesan admitted to agreeing to the purchase and sought the help of a friend named Egbeji from Oye, who taught him how to perform money rituals.

After receiving instructions, Ayangbesan reportedly burnt the legs and kept them in his house, planning to complete the ritual after returning from Ajah, where he had a job to do. However, he received a call from his daughter while in Ajah, informing him that the police had come to their house looking for him. To avoid being caught with any evidence, Ayangbesan reportedly snuck back home and took away the burnt legs.

On the Allegation of Bribery

Ayangbesan denied offering the police any bribe. He claimed that when he heard the police were looking for him, a lawyer advised him to pay N10 million to secure his release. However, Ayangbesan was only able to raise N1 million. He alleged that the lawyer asked him to place the money in front of him and took a picture before he was arrested. Ayangbesan insisted that he never offered the police any money.
