Train collides with BRT bus in Lagos, multiple fatalities feared

A tragic accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, March 9, involving a train and a staff bus belonging to the Lagos state government at Fajuyi Adekunle way in the Ikeja area of the state.

The BRT bus was trying to cross the railway when the train collided with it, leading to a yet-to-be specified number of fatalities and several injuries. Photos and videos making rounds online show some unconscious bodies lying on the floor, and injured persons nursing their wounds.

Some well Nigerians were also captured trying to rescue the remaining passengers trapped in the bus. Videos of the incident are available.

It is unfortunate that just yesterday, tragedy struck in the wee hours of Wednesday, March 8, when a mysterious raging fire gutted Akere Spare Parts Market in Olodi-Apapa, Lagos state. The corpse of a male adult was recovered around the scene, suspected to have died from a gunshot wound as there were no signs of burns on him. Margaret Adeseye, the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, stated that the cause of the fire is “suspicious”. A video of the incident is available.

Just yesterday, tragedy struck in the wee hours of Wednesday, March 8, when a mysterious raging fire gutted Akere Spare Parts Market in Olodi-Apapa, Lagos state.

The corpse of a male adult was recovered around the scene, suspected to have died from a gunshot wound as there were no signs of burns on him.
