The Lagos State Government released a statement on its website say its opposition to the exhumation of the body of Whitney Adeniran, a student of Chrisland Schools who reportedly died of electrocution. The statement comes in response to claims that Chrisland Schools had requested a second autopsy on the late student after the first report stated that she died of electrocution.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the circumstances for exhumation under the Coroners' Systems Law, 2015 do not arise in this case, and if and when an official communication requesting for exhumation is received, the ministry will be opposed to it. The ministry also stated that it is working closely with the police, who have given their reassurance that the duplicate case file would be forwarded on March 6 to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to aid speedy issuance of legal advice. The government noted that it is not its intention to further traumatize the deceased's family and will continue to provide support as necessary.
