According to Kwankwaso, their relationship deteriorated over the years, and he accused Ganduje of misappropriating government properties for personal use and that of his family members.

Recently, both Kwankwaso and Ganduje were summoned by President Bola Tinubu to address an ongoing demolition issue in the state. During the briefing, Kwankwaso stated that several demolished buildings were unlawfully acquired by the Ganduje administration. He also mentioned that President Tinubu was shocked upon learning the true reasons behind the ongoing demolitions.

Kwankwaso further expressed his astonishment over the demolition of the University of Science and Technology's faculty, Daula Hotel, and the Triumph place, emphasizing the detrimental effects on the community.
