Wizkid, the Nigerian singer, has received his third gold certification in the UK for his global blockbuster track Essence, which has sold over 400,000 copies so far.
Even though it was released on Wizkid's 2020 album, Made in Lagos, Essence was one of the outstanding songs of 2021. The song became a worldwide sensation, attracting the attention of pop superstar Justin Bieber, who wanted to be included in the remix.
Last month, Pitchfork, Spotify, Rolling Stone, TIME, and other publications selected Essence to their year-end lists of finest songs of the year.
Wizkid's smash hit song, Essence, has now earned him his third gold certification as a lead artist in the United Kingdom. The Tems-assisted track has sold over 400,00 units in the UK, and this comes on the same day that the Made in Lagos album was also certified Silver in the UK.
