Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has received two new nominations for the 2023 Grammys.
The recording Academy released nominees for their upcoming 65th edition on Tuesday, November 15, and Burna Boy secured two mentions for his “Love Damini” album in the area of Best Global Music Album and “Last Last” in the category of Best Global Performance.
Burna Boy will compete against other artistes inorder to clinch the Best Global Music Performance category. Some other artistes nominated for the category, includes Arooj Aftab and Anoushka Shankar for “Udhero Na,” Matt B and Eddy Kenzo for “Gimme Love,” Rocky Dawuni with “Neva Bow Down” by Blvk H3ro, Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode (Bayethe).
For the Best Global Music Album category, the Nigerian singer would have to battle it out with the likes of Berklee Indian Ensemble (Shuruaat), Angélique Kidjo and Ibrahim Maalouf (Queen of Sheba), Anoushka Shankar, Metropole Orkest, and Jules Buckley featuring Manu Delago (“Between Us … (Live), and Masa Takumi (Sakura).
