Renowned musician, Zlatan Ibile, took to his social media to share a heartfelt reflection on his humble beginnings, accompanied by a nostalgic throwback photo.
The singer, in a post on his Instagram page, delved into his journey over the past decade, revealing that ten years ago, the persona of Zlatan Ibile didn't exist as he harbored dreams of becoming a professional footballer.
He credited the students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) for their unwavering belief in him, which led to his victory in the Airtel One Mic singing contest and subsequently, his acquisition of his first car, marking the genesis of his music career.
Zlatan's breakthrough moment arrived in 2017 with a collaborative effort alongside his senior colleague and YBNL boss, Olamide. Expressing his gratitude to the MAPOLY students and his fans, he reflected on his incredulity at the remarkable ten-year journey he has traversed in the music industry.
In his own words: "10 years ago, there was no Zlatan Ibile. All there was, was an aspiring footballer. Mapoly students believed in me by ensuring I won this contest! From then, everything changed from football to music. I did not have 2 personal songs let alone a hit until 2017 with Baddo. Thank you to every Mapoly student who stood by me. Thank you Day 1 Zlatanovaz. Can’t believe today makes it exactly 10 years already… And we’re still going strong. ZTTW!"
