In response to the recent legal threats from Falz, activist VeryDarkMan has publicly denied the allegations of defamation against his father, Femi Falana.
It is important to note that Falz had issued a 24-hour ultimatum to VDM, demanding the removal of all statements he deemed defamatory and harmful to his father's reputation.[/p>
Falz also clarified during this period that he never had any direct communication with Bobrisky and emphasized that VDM did not reach out to him before making the controversial claims, which reportedly included insinuations regarding homosexuality.
In defense of VeryDarkMan, his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, released a statement asserting that the activist firmly denies defaming Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, emphasizing the respect VDM holds for him. The lawyer made it clear that the release of the audio recordings was intended to incite a thorough investigation by relevant authorities into the allegations made by Bobrisky, with some details allegedly corroborated by Falz himself.
The letter from VDM’s legal team read in part: “Our client denies defaming Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria and globally recognized human rights activist, but asserts that he only published the said communication with a view to getting the relevant agencies, and even your client, to initiate a thorough investigation into the far-reaching allegations made by Mr. Okuneye in the said voice recording, especially as some elements of the voice recording have been confirmed by Mr. Folarin Falana in his solicitor’s letter of September 25, 2024….”
