Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, expressed her disappointment and sadness over the defeat of singer and politician, Banky W, to Labour Party candidate, Thaddeus Attah, in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives. Thaddeus emerged as the winner after defeating Banky W of the People Democratic Party (PDP) with 24,075 votes, while Banky W secured 18,666 votes and Mr Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had 16, 901 votes. The INEC Returning Officer, Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, declared Thaddeus Attah as the winner, stating that he had satisfied the requirement of the law and was returned elected. The announcement was made on Sunday at the Collation Centre in Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School, Marwa, Lekki 1.

Reacting to Banky W's loss, Toke Makinwa wrote in a now-deleted tweet that she was very disappointed and sad because the singer had worked extremely hard for the seat. She also expressed her surprise that the people of Eti Osa were not familiar with Thaddeus Attah, who won the election. In her words, "The news of LP winning in Eti Osa House of Representatives is so painful cos he didn’t campaign, we don’t even know him. Banky worked so hard, Banky deserves to win Eti Osa."
