Nigerian singer Slimcase has recently sparked excitement online by recreating the iconic music video of fellow artist Wizkid’s hit song “Essence,” showcasing his deep admiration for the globally acclaimed musician.
Through a post on his Instagram page, Slimcase shared a video of himself creatively mimicking Wizkid’s style and mannerisms from the “Essence” music video, a song regarded as one of the standout tracks from Wizkid's fourth studio album, Made In Lagos.
He took the opportunity to highlight the significant achievements of the song, mentioning that it made history by becoming the first Nigerian song to chart on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Global 200, and was even nominated at the 64th Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Performance.
He listed other achievements that the song bagged including the 64th annual Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Performance.
