Nigerian actress Mary Njoku has raised concerns about the challenges faced by Nigerians in the current economic climate, specifically highlighting the issue of toll gate fees. Expressing shock and dismay, Njoku questioned how people are managing to survive after paying a hefty sum of N664 at the toll gate.
In a recent statement, the popular Nollywood thespian voiced her worries about the skyrocketing prices of goods and services across the country. She was taken aback by the exorbitant amount she had to pay at the toll gate, emphasizing the strain it puts on individuals' finances.
Mary Njoku further pointed out that the prices of essential commodities such as fuel and food have witnessed a drastic surge since President Bola Tinubu assumed office. This has added to the burden faced by ordinary Nigerians, who are grappling with the rising costs of basic necessities.
As a concerned citizen, and a mother of three, Njoku posed a question to her fellow Nigerians, seeking to understand how they are managing to cope with the steep increase in prices of food, fuel, and various services. She expressed her astonishment that filling up a car's fuel tank now requires more than the minimum monthly wage, highlighting the immense financial pressure on individuals and families.
