Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Ifu Ennada, shared a personal narrative about a past relationship where she had to free herself from the emotional toll of one-sided effort. She took to Instagram to recount her experience, shedding light on a long-distance relationship she had about four years ago with a man residing on a different continent.
In her relationship, Ifu Ennada went above and beyond to prove her commitment. She often ordered thoughtful gifts and had them delivered to her significant other, especially during his darker moments, as a way to uplift his spirits despite the geographical distance between them.
However, to her disappointment, she never received similar gestures of affection and care in return, not even when she was celebrating her birthdays. In her candid reflection, she expressed her gratitude for having the wisdom to liberate herself from the emotional investment that wasn't reciprocated.
"Randomly thinking of the time I dated this man who lived on another continent and whenever he was feeling really down, right here from Nigeria, I'd order gifts and have them delivered to him just to cheer him up.
I never got this same treatment, not even on my birthday. This was about 4 years ago. I thank God for delivering me from stupidity," she wrote, along with a sense of closure and empowerment.
