The Mavin Records boss shared this perspective while responding to a fan’s suggestion for an all-legends concert.

The fan identified as @beingzora on X platform suggested the coming together of veteran entertainers like Don Jazzy, P-Square, Wande Coal, and others for a live performance.

“Ughhh someone needs to plan a OG Naija music festival with P-Square, Dbanj, Wande Coal, Duncan Mighty, Don Jazzy (Old Mavins), Ice Prince!!! That would go so crazyyyy!” he wrote.

In response, the Mavin Records boss insisted that he was an upcoming and should not be classified amongst veterans on the list.

“I be upcoming o. Stay there,” he wrote.

The post has since sparked a wave of reactions from fans who found the declaration hilarious while many insisted on his status as a veteran.

It is noteworthy that Don Jazzy rose to prominence in 2004 after co-founding Mo’ Hits Records with D’banj. From 2011 to 2015, he served as an in-house producer for Kanye West’s record label, GOOD Music.

Following the split of Mo’ Hits, he established Mavin Records in 2012. In 2024, he sold Mavin Records to Universal Music Group but continued in his role as the chief executive officer (CEO).
