As the legal proceedings related to the late singer, Mohbad, continue, a Lagos State Court in Yaba has made the decision to send Mohbad's friend and an auxiliary nurse back to police custody. On Monday, November 6, 2023, a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba returned to custody a 37-year-old auxiliary nurse, Fisayo Ogedengbe, and a friend of Mohbad's, Ayobani Sadiq. They had been previously arrested by the police in connection with the controversial death of Nigerian artiste, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
The court's rationale for this decision was that releasing the suspects could potentially interfere with the ongoing investigation into the case. Consequently, bail was denied to both individuals as the case was still under active investigation.
The late artist allegedly died as a result of the nurse's injections, which has raised significant legal and public interest in the case.
In addition to sending the auxiliary nurse back to police custody, Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun also ruled that Mohbad's friend Ayobani Sadiq, who is also considered a suspect in the case, must remain in police custody.
However, the magistrate did grant N20 million in bail to Mohbad's ex-boss, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, better known as Sam Larry. These individuals were also accused in connection with Mohbad's death and had been taken into police custody on October 6.
To provide time for consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Olatunbosun rescheduled the case until November 29. This decision was made due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and the need to ensure a fair and thorough legal process.
