The deeply disheartened Anyim Veronica discloses her academic accomplishment of graduating with a third-class degree and expresses disbelief at the hurdles she overcame to achieve her graduation.
Furthermore, she expresses disappointment at her spiritual mentor for publicly shaming her in such a manner.
In her initial official Facebook post following the incident, she emphasizes feeling morally destabilized by the preacher’s actions.
“It’s disheartening because I couldn’t articulate myself in English like lawyers. I was branded a liar for mistakenly stating B.Sc instead of LLB. In reality, I graduated with a Third Class from NOUN.
“The rejected stone can become the cornerstone. We’re reminded not to look down on anyone. You can’t imagine what I endured throughout the service. How shattered I must have felt to be disgraced by my spiritual leader in such a manner?”
While pointing out her name on a published list of graduates, she adds, “I am no. 2262 on the list. I, Vera, deserve better now.”
